Dancers at Assembly ~ SmartBoard in Spanish

An OSU student group, Folclor Hispano, performed during our assembly in honor of Hispanic Heritage month. Folclor Hispano is a student dance group at The Ohio State University that strives to learn and perform traditional dances of Spanish speaking countries.

Senora Robeano used the SmartBoard to practice numbers.

Monday, September 29, 2008

Today we played a pattern game using the SmartBoard and then created our own patterns. Can you tell us what comes next?

We finished up the letter M by making Model Me's using Model Magic.

Mmm...Muffins

We read "If You Give A Moose A Muffin" and then made Marvelous Moose Muffins. We ate them for snack. They were yummy!

Some other tidbits of the day...
The Lower School had a cookout for lunch and ate outside.
We played Number Bingo.
The pool is still broken, so Mr Yakscoe and Mrs. Moore took the kids to the playground to play.
We wrote in our journals.
We exchanged reading books.
It was a big day.
Have a good weekend.

Art ~ Tree

We had an extra art class this week. The Kindergarten students are working with Mr. Cicetti on self-portraits. The self-portraits will be displayed in the hallways when they are complete.

We walked outside to visit the tree that KC usually observes during the school year. We noticed that the tree was damaged in the storm that came through a week ago. Our guess is that this tree will be removed, so we will have to choose a new tree to observe this year.

The Letter M ~ Dictionaries ~ Lucky Duck

Mmmm, it's the Letter M week in KC.
We brainstormed words that begin with M and began working on our dictionaries. We spread out around the room, so that we had more space. The Lucky Duck, Ryan, got to sit at a table by himself! This is another benefit of the Lucky Duck. The Lucky Duck also helps with calendar and is the line leader for the entire week.

A sample dictionary page.

We met our 4th grade buddies at the end of the day. We ate cookies with our buddies and put together the puzzles that they made for us.
