Last Day

Last year we started the tradition of every KC student drawing a self-portrait on our bathroom wall. Take a peek tomorrow when you are here.

We took a few minutes to look through the student portfolios. These came home tonight. We hope you enjoy them!

Thank you for letting us have your children this year. We enjoyed them and will miss them!

(Please see the next post for information about tomorrow)

Friday Morning:
  • Children do not need to bring a backpack.
  • Parents may head directly to the theater to get a seat. It will be a full house.
  • The program begins at 8:30, and children will be picked up in our classroom after the program.

Dress:
Children should wear dress clothes appropriate for a formal setting conforming to the following guidelines:
  • Girls should wear dresses, skirts, or pant suits suitable for safe stepping on and off risers. If a dress or skirt is chosen, it must be of appropriate length (knee or below). In addition, dresses must not be backless, see-through, or have straps less than 2 inches wide (spaghetti straps are not allowed).
  • Boys should wear long dress pants with school shoes or dress shoes. They should wear a nice shirt with a collar; ties are optional.

Hi Riley, the KC kids miss you! Get well soon!

Self-portraits ~ Hot Potato ~ Cookies

We compared our self-portraits from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. Wow, we were impressed with how much we have grown! We draw better, color more consistently, our handwriting is much better, we have hands and feet, and we are neater in every way.

We played Hot Potato before we went to Science.

We baked cookies. We thought we should bake at least one more time before we are out for the summer. It was a yummy snack.

Wrapping Up

Things are wrapping up. We decorated the cover of our tree journals, added a few last entries and illustrations into our dictionaries, and added a few crazy sentences to our ABC books. We worked very hard today!

1st grade students ~ 1st grade teachers

Three 1st graders, who were in KC last year, joined us to practice reading their books in preparation for their Author Tea next week. Each student wrote a book about Japan which is what the first graders are currently studying. The books were fabulous! It was fun to see a glimpse of what the Kindergartners will be doing next year.

We also met the first grade teachers. We asked questions about next year and walked through the first grade classrooms. The first grade teams are: Ms. Spolter and Mrs. Klug, Mrs. Simmons and Mrs. Yakscoe, Ms. Whipps and Mrs. Downing, and Mr. Connick and Mrs. Faciana. In this picture, we see Ms. Spolter, Mrs. Simmons, and Mr Connick.

4th Grade Buddies

We enjoyed seeing our 4th Grade Buddies at the end of the day. We worked on a memory page, ate a few Oreos, and played outside.
