Birthday ~ Jack's Mom

We had our first birthday of the year.
Happy Birthday Maggie!

Jack's mom visited our class to tell us a little about Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Rosh Hashanah is a celebration of the Jewish New Year. They blow the shofar to announce the new year and eat apples and honey for a sweet new year. Yom Kippur is a more serious holiday. It is a day of repentance, or as Jack put it, "We say we are sorry for what we did bad last year." After learning about these holidays, we ate apples and honey. Thank you!

If anyone else wants to come in to share a tradition or holiday, please let us know!
